split Method

Removes text from a string.

Syntax

stringObj.split(rgExp)

Arguments

stringObj

The name of a String object. Required

rgExp

A Regular Expression object containing the pattern to search for. Required.

Remarks

The result of the split method is a copy of stringObj after all successful matches have been removed.
The method updates the RegExp object.
